Fortin's is a local, family owned business that has been part of the community since 1946. We supply automotive/industrial products, have a machine shop at our Airport Road location, and are a part of Home Hardware. Fortin's currently has stores in Chilliwack, Vedder, Abbotsford, and Hope.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill 1 Full Time Assistant Manager position our team. You will need:
Customer Service
- Customer interaction is our primary task. Responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction by providing technical information, pricing and responses to a cross-section of questions that are posed. Customers always override others. If you are engaged in a conversation with another employee or a sales rep visiting, immediately stop and engage the customer. Everyone understands customers are our primary task.
- Resolving issues regarding customer service.
Primary Sales Associate Tasks / responsibilities
Department Training / Knowledge
- Get to know each department stock / products / inventory
- Able to help staff and customers anywhere as needed
- Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Housewares, Hardware etc.
Staff
- Prioritizing tasks
- Organizing / keeping busy
- Training
- Preseason staff meetings
- Seasonal topics reviewed each year prior to season
- BBQs and Traeger’s for example
- New lines
- Making sure Fortin’s dress and behavior codes are being adhered to.
Merchandizing
- End caps and Dump Bins
- Recognizing when an end cap or dump bin is no longer turning
- Delegating what product to put there or changing over yourself
- In coordination with HH planograms sent with future flyer orders / stock orders
- In coordination with seasonal, weather, holidays
- Pressure washers, camping items, Christmas, Canada Day, rain, snow, heat, sun, etc
- Till Area
- Kept clean and organized, see note above.
- Keep price tags current
- Ensure all flyer sales tags removed after sale ends
- Responsible to keep store presentable. Aisles and all areas accessible to all customers, priced, clean and safe.
Inventory Management
- Category Management through HH Connect
- Ensure we have completed and are up to date on all continual line updates
- Hole patrol – making sure we have enough in stock adjust mins as needed
- Seasonal changes, turning on seasonal products and off off-season products in a timely manner.
Planned Stock Counts / Cycle Counting
- Have staff scheduled to ensure cycle counting throughout the year
- Entire store counted annually
Consulting on Inventory / Purchasing
- Advising products and lines to bring in and look into. Or if product trending, almost out.
Must be available to work weekends Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays.
